Terms & Conditions
1. Introduction
Welcome to LumaMind Integrative Counselling.
By booking and attending an integrative counselling session, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions. These terms outline your rights and responsibilities as a client and help ensure a safe, professional, and supportive therapeutic experience.
2. Nature of Service
LumaMind Integrative Counselling provides professional integrative counselling and esoteric modality based psychotherapy services. Sessions are intended to support emotional wellbeing, personal growth, and mental health awareness.
While counselling can be deeply therapeutic, it is not a substitute for medical treatment, psychiatric care, or emergency crisis intervention. If you are in crisis or require immediate assistance, please contact Lifeline (13 11 14) or Emergency Services (000).
3. Confidentiality
All information shared during sessions is confidential and treated in accordance with professional ethical standards and the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
Confidentiality will only be broken under the following circumstances:
-
There is an immediate risk of harm to yourself or others.
-
Information is required by law (e.g., subpoena or mandatory reporting obligations).
-
You provide written consent for information to be shared with another professional.
These limits to confidentiality are discussed clearly during your initial consultation.
4. Booking and Payment
-
Appointments can be made via website, email and phone.
-
A deposit is required at the time of booking and remainder of payment at the conclusion of a session unless otherwise arranged.
-
Accepted payment methods include bank transfer, debit card, cash.
-
Session fees are clearly listed on our website or provided upon enquiry.
-
5. Cancellations and Rescheduling
To ensure fairness and respect for all clients’ time, we ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.
-
Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice may incur a cancellation fee equal to 50% of the session cost.
-
Failure to attend a session without notice (“no-show”) may result in being charged the full session fee.
If you experience an emergency or unforeseen circumstance, please reach out as soon as possible — compassionate exceptions may be made at our discretion.
6. Session Duration
-
Standard counselling sessions are 60 minutes in length.
-
Longer sessions or extended consultations may be available upon request and will be charged accordingly.
7. Online and Telehealth Counselling
Online sessions are offered through secure, encrypted platforms to maintain confidentiality and privacy.
Clients engaging in online counselling agree to ensure:
-
They have a private and quiet space for the duration of the session.
-
They use reliable internet and devices to minimise disruption.
Recording of sessions is not permitted without mutual written consent.
8. Professional Boundaries
Counselling relationships are professional in nature. To maintain ethical standards:
-
LumaMind does not provide services outside of scheduled sessions (e.g., via social media or text conversations).
-
Dual relationships (friendship, business, or romantic connections) are not permitted.
These boundaries exist to preserve safety, confidentiality, and therapeutic integrity.
9. Your Responsibility as a Client
Counselling is a collaborative process. You are encouraged to engage openly, reflect honestly and take responsibility for your personal wellbeing between sessions.
While the counsellor provides professional guidance and support, outcomes depend on your willingness to participate and integrate insights discussed in therapy.
10. Fees and Refunds
-
Fees are subject to periodic review and may change with notice.
-
Refunds are not provided for completed sessions.
-
In the event of illness or emergency, session fees may be credited toward a future appointment at the discretion of LumaMind Integrative Counselling.
11. Limitations of Service
LumaMind does not provide crisis intervention, medication management, or diagnostic assessments.
If your needs are outside our professional scope, referrals to appropriate services will be provided.
12. Code of Ethics
LumaMind operates in accordance with the ethical guidelines of the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) and the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA).
Our work is guided by professionalism, confidentiality, respect, and genuine care for client wellbeing.
